Content Moderation Policy

How submissions get reviewed.

Effective July 8, 2026

Anything submitted to OhSht — a review, a rating, a location detail, or a photo — is measured against a simple bar: is it true, is it useful, is it kind. This policy explains how that gets enforced in practice.

What gets moderated

  • Reviews and star ratings
  • Location and feature details submitted by users
  • Any photos submitted alongside a review

Our approach today

OhSht is currently moderated primarily through user reports and periodic manual review, since the platform is run by a single founder. We don't yet have an automated moderation system or a dedicated trust and safety team — we're honest about that limitation rather than implying otherwise. Reports are the fastest way to get something looked at.

What we look for

  • Content that violates our Community Guidelines
  • Clearly false or fabricated information
  • Harassment, hate speech, or explicit content
  • Spam or promotional submissions unrelated to the location

What happens when content is removed

Violating content is removed at the content level. Because OhSht has no accounts, there's no profile to suspend — in cases of repeated or severe abuse, we may block further submissions from the source (such as a device or network) rather than a named account.

Appeals and reports

Think something was removed unfairly, or missed something that should be? Email hello@ohsht.app. Every message is read and handled personally.
